    Nochmal danke für die gründliche Überarbeitung.


    demonic drives, im Sinne von seine demonischen (An-)Trieben. ich hatte das so aus nem Quelltext übernommen. Oder scheitn das Wort "drive" in dem Zusammenhang sehr ugs. zu sein?

    Danke, jetzt bin ich um einiges schlauer.


    Naja meine Englischlehrerin ist schon etwas länger dabei. Aber ehrlich gesagt hatte ich schon bessere Lehrkräfte in Englisch als sie. Ich bin jetzt in der Klasse 10 eines Gymnasiums, und ich behaupte jetzt mal von mir selber, dass ich in Klasse 7/8 (als wir noch nen anderen Englisch-Lehrer hatten) besseres Englisch sprechen konnte, als es jetzt der Fall ist. Eigentlich schade drum :-/


    Noch ne kleine Frage: Was macht dich eigentlich hier zum Englischexperten? Hast du Englisch studiert, mal ne Zeit im englischsprachigen Ausland verbracht etc. ?

    Wir müssen es Mittwoch abgeben, ich denke mal nächsten Montag werden wir es wiederbekommen. Ich lass es dich dann wissen, was meine mehr oder weniger kompetente Englisch Lehrerin noch alles zu bemängeln hatte ;)


    Eine Frage noch, uns wird immer gesagt das wir in Sachtexten immer die Langform benutzen sollen, also "does not" statt doesn´t. Dies wird mit der Begründung geäußert "doesn´t" ist informeller. Du sagst an der einen Stelle ist "doesn´t" besser. Jetzt bin ich verwirrt *gg*

    wir hatten die Aufgabe für den Englisch Unterricht ein Kurz-Referat anzufertigen, indem wir ein Film, Buch etc. thematisieren sollten.
    Wäre schön wenn jemand den Text mal korrekturlesen, und mich auf eventuelle Fehler aufmerksam machen könnte:


    Background information:


    Red Dragon is the first novel of the terrifying trilogy of Hannibal – the cannibal – who is the main character that is played by Anthony Hopkins. The films “The silent of the lambs”, “Hannibal” and now “Red Dragon”, are all based on the novels of Thomas Harris from year 1981.
    Finally, Red Dragon should be the end of the “Hopkins-Hannibal-Trilogy”, but in chronological order, the story of Red Dragon happens first.



    Story:
    Previous History
    The FBI agent, Will Graham, quits the bureau after almost losing his life at the hands of a serial killer, Hannibal Lector, but he succeeds in catching him.


    Main Story
    Years later, Will Graham, known for his expertise in delving into the minds of killers, is not a FBI agent anymore. He is living a quiet existence with his wife and son in Florida.
    But know his specialized knowledge is asked again. A new serial killer frightens the country. Graham reluctantly agrees to come out of retirement and assist the FBI. He soon realizes that the best way to catch the killer, Francis Dolarhyde (Ralph Fiennes), “The Tooth Fairy”, is to go back to the incarcerated Lector and ask him for his insights…


    Characteristic:


    The only figure that is worth to describe particularly is the one of the cruel killer, Francis Dolarhyde. He is a really special character that acts from a personal motive. Francis is inspired by a William-Blake-Painting “The Great Red Dragon and the Woman Clothed with the Sun”. He is obsessed with this bizarre painting, believing there is a red dragon within him, the personification of his demonic drives. While the "transformation" of its victims he also feels transformed. When he sees himself in the mirror, he knows that Lector sees the same as he does. He believes that also Lector would see someone, which was once a human and is now a higher nature. Flashbacks to Dolarhyde's terrifying childhood, you can understand this psychological confusion.
    Accordingly you can say Francis Dolarhyde is schizophrenic character. He can identify himself with Hannibal Lector. Conversely when Francis fall in love with a blind girl, you recognize that he does not like what he does. The red dragon within him command him to kill that girl, but Francis does not want to …


    Opinion:


    I think Red Dragon, as the 1st part of the Hannibal Lector trilogy, has succeeded in all points. One of the main strengths of this film was the brilliant cast, especially Edward Norton that you know from films like “Fight Club” or “American History X”, and of course Anthony Hopkins, who is the best actor of Hannibal, I think.
    The film convinced by its presentation of the characters and its very well set in shock effects supported by the soundtrack that added to the tension.
    So when you like “The silent of the lambs”, you would like “Red Dragon” as well. It is much better than “Hannibal” and as exciting as “The silent of the lambs”. Anyway, they used the original locations, so there appears a feeling you know from the other films. Because of this I would really recommend this film and it is really worth seeing.
