Discuss the pro and cons thoughtfully.
I think the scientists have a moral responsibility towards mankind, because they can discover dangerous things or chemicals with which they can hurt or kill a lot of people. For example the radioactivity. At first Pluntonium and Radium were discovered and later the scientists were able to build the atomic bomb.
I think in special projects the progress of science isn't a very important subject. Mankind's priority should be to live together without war and that all people in the world have enough food.
A lot of money is invested in space travel projects or armament. It is fact that the scientists forget their moral responsibility and think only about the money they earn and the fame they get. I think that the progress of science is important for subjects like Health. It is important for mankind to find medicines for cancer and Aids.
For the Africans it is important to find a way how they can do agriculture in their hot and dry weather. It is important that the scientists cultivate grain which can grow in such a climate. The progress of science often brings difficulties. Many people are unemployed, because modern computers and machines do their work. The rich people get richer and the poor people get poorer. Progress of science ist not got for everybody!
I think mankind is more important than the progress of science. Science can be dangerous! Progress of science is not the most important thing of all!
